AI Governance from an IT Perspective

Audience:

IT leaders, managers, security professionals, governance specialists, and technology decision-makers responsible for overseeing the adoption, management, and governance of artificial intelligence within their organizations.

Prerequisites:

Participants should have a basic understanding of IT operations, cybersecurity, and governance concepts. Prior experience with AI is not required.

Course Description:

This AI Governance from an IT Perspective class introduces the foundational principles and practices of AI governance, IT-Data-AI governance connection, AI IT risks, the role of IT in AI governance, and our ten-step AIM AI Governance Design Process.

Learners will also examine areas of IT-user AI conflict, the role of IT in AI governance and various IT AI activities, including oversight, AI ethics, legal/regulatory compliance, and AI lifecycle management.

By class end, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how and why, from an IT perspective, AI governance is essential for the responsible development and deployment of AI technologies.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of the AI Governance for IT Managers and IT Leaders course, students will be able to:

• Evaluate differences in how and where AI is used in organizations of different sizes
• Recognize the IT-Data-AI Governance connection
• Understand the role of IT in the AI governance process
• Identify the IT-related risks caused by AI system implementations

• Use the 30+ AI governance templates included in the class materials
